Moooo!


Recently Vacation Cabins have been the forefront of the client photo work, which brings the opportunity to see a little countryside each week. This scene is on Brownwood Rd in the Deep Gap area, about 15 minutes from Boone. It certainly boasts some of the prettiest pasture I have seen in awhile. Serene Scene


This past week or two I've been working on a story for High Country Magazine all about the vast amount of dedication it requires to be a firefighter. Monday I was given the task of listening in to a scanner for fire calls to chase down and capture these men and women at work on scene. No fires so far, but Tuesday I did follow them to two car accidents. The image above was taken at the second accident, while there was complete controlled chaos of firefighters and trucks, ambulances and paramedics, police and tow trucks all trying to frantically help clear the wreckage and victims of a head on collision. It was a deeply calming feeling to turn around and see the warm late afternoon sun glowing in the meadow.

Snow Day






Ah nothing like having a day off from classes and getting to go out and shoot in the snow. We had a foot of snow in Boone with even higher totals on the mountaintops. A far shot from the 1-3 inches predicted, but I'm certainly not complaining. Time for some hot chocolate...
